RIDEAWAY is a sports bike rental shop right by the Tama River in Kawasaki, just outside Tokyo.
We’re just a minute’s walk from the Tama River Cycling Road, so you can start your ride right away.
Whether you want to take a relaxing ride through nature or go for a longer-distance cycling journey, you can enjoy the ride that suits your style.

The Tama River Cycling Road
The Tama River Cycling Road is a 50km-long, flat and well-paved route that’s easy and comfortable to ride.
It’s popular with all levels of cyclists and connects to the hilly Onekan Road, used during the Tokyo Olympics. Nearby, you can visit temples such as Jindaiji and Takahata Fudo to experience traditional Japanese culture.
We also offer beginner-friendly lessons, so even first-timers can feel confident and enjoy the ride.

Onekan Road

Tama River Cycling Road
Onekan Road has always been the center of cycling activity in Tokyo, especially since the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 when it was used as part of the official road race course.
Its hilly terrain attracts cyclists.
The Tama River Cycling Road stretches for 50km from Haneda to Hamura.
Local people enjoy cycling on weekends for its well-paved road and lovely scenery along the Tama river.

The Tama River Cycling Road is a 50km car-free route with no traffic signals, stretching from the Tama area to Tokyo Bay. With cherry blossoms in spring and lush greenery in summer, it’s ideal for a scenic and relaxing ride.
You can also visit historic sites like Jindaiji, Ookunitama Shrine, and Kawasaki Daishi—known for their beautiful architecture and cultural heritage—while enjoying local food and leisure spots along the way.
For a more challenging experience, the nearby Onekan Road offers hilly terrain popular among cyclists.

Haneda Airport
Haneda Airport is located a little farther than the starting point of the Tama River Cycling Road.
It is not only a world-class transportation hub but also a popular destination for cyclists.
There are observation decks and restaurants .

Kawasaki Daishi Temple
Kawasaki Daishi temple, founded in 1128, is well known for yakuyoke, the Buddhist practice of warding off evil.
Every New Year, around 2 million people come here for hatsumode, the first visit to a shrine or temple of the new year.

Lake Tama
Jindaiji temple is located in the northern part of Chofu, an area known for its abundant spring water.
The high-quality water has also made the temple famous for soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles) and dango.
Lake Tama is a reservoir located in northwestern Tokyo.
A cycle train runs from Koremasa, 20 minutes away from the store, to Musashi-Sakai, and you can bring your bike on board.
The path from Musashi-Sakai to Lake Tama is reserved for pedestrians and cyclists only.
Our Bikes and Facilities
We offer a variety of road bikes, as well as gravel and cross bikes, in different sizes
so you can find one that fits your height.



We also offer several complimentary items and facilities, helmets, lights, and lockers.
Optional items and facilities, saddle cushions, glasses, smartphone holders, gloves, rain coat, and shower are also available for an additional charge.
Please note that items not listed above, such as bike bags, are not available.

■ Standard Operating Hours and Location
RIDEAWAY is open on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
We offer full-day rentals only, which you can start at any time during business hours. Our shop is conveniently located just a minute's walk from the Tamagawa River Cycling Road. We look forward to supporting your cycling adventure!
■ Weekday Rentals
Weekday rentals are available between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM only to customers who contact us in advance.
Since weekday rentals require special arrangements, a 50% surcharge will be added to the standard rate. This policy applies Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.
Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all requests depending on our schedule. Thank you for your understanding.

Please include your name, e-mail address, height, rental bike, rental date and time (between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM), and a phone number in Japan (if you have one)
If you send the form on the day of your rental, our reply may be delayed.
Please make your reservation in advance.
Please note: If you return the bicycle later than your scheduled return time (or after our business hours), an extension fee will be charged.

Nakanoshima Home is about a 3-minute walk from Nakanoshima Station (JR Nambu Line), which is approximately 30 minutes from major areas such as Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Kawasaki.

Q. Can beginners use the services?
A. Yes, absolutely! We provide a brief orientation on how to handle and ride a road bike safely before you head out.
Q. What should I bring?
A. Please bring a valid photo ID (Passport, Driver’s License, or Residence Card).
Q. Can I make a reservation on the day of rental?
A. We recommend booking at least one day in advance. Same-day requests via the form may not be seen in time, so please contact us as early as possible.
Q. How can I pay?
A. We accept cash, major credit cards, and QR code payments (PayPay, etc.).
Q. What will happen if it rains?
A. In case of rain, reservations are automatically canceled free of charge for your safety. We will contact you if we need to close due to weather.
Q. Can I make a reservation for two people at once?
A. Yes! If you would like to book for a group, please contact us via the inquiry form with the following information for all riders:

Q. Can I rent a bike for more than 1 day?
A. For multi-day rentals, please contact us via the inquiry form for availability and pricing.
Q. Can I use clipless shoes?
A. Our bikes are equipped with flat pedals only. Please wear comfortable sneakers for your ride.
Q. Is insurance included?
A. Yes. We carry TS Mark insurance and liability insurance for rental businesses. This covers third-party accidents resulting in hospitalization or death.
Please note: This insurance does NOT cover damage to the bicycle or accidents/injuries caused by falling (self-inflicted accidents). We recommend having your own travel insurance for comprehensive coverage.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. If you need to cancel for personal reasons, please notify us as soon as possible via the inquiry form or email. There is no cancellation fee, but we appreciate early notice so we can make the bike available for other riders.
Q. Do you provide helmets?
A. Yes. A helmet, bell, and lights are provided as standard equipment with all rentals at no extra cost. Please ride safely!
